A delightful small cabinet specimen of pale lilac to creamy-white Fluorite sprinkled with metallic, lustrous brassy Chalcopyrite crystals along with an attached bright silver to blue-grey Galena crystal. A superb combination piece from Blackdene mine near the village of Ireshopeburn in Weardale, County Durham. Blackdene mine is famed for its splendid Fluorite and Galena and this is a top quality example, but it is the addition of Chalcopyrite that takes this piece to a entirely different level. The Fluorite cubes are distorted to the much rarer elongated habit and are developed up to 2.7 cm on edge. They also, of course, display strong lilac fluorescence under long wave UV light. A super showy Fluorite, Galena and Chalcopyrite from the Weardale valley.
