Epidote
In terms of classic European Epidote localities Knappenwand in Austria is almost certainly the place that is thought of first for amazing crystallized specimens but there is a place in Czechia where smaller, but really beautiful aggregates of glassy bladed crystals have been found, and that is Farský Dul at Sobotín. This charming large miniature aggregate of near parallel, elongated, tabular to flattened olive-yellow to olive green prisms of Epidote from Farský Dul is of exceptional quality, presenting not only perfectly formed crystals to 4.6 cm in length, but with a delightful internal play of light producing colour-zoning beneath the surface of the highly lustrous crystals. A stunning specimen of Epidote from this important Czech location. It is mounted on an acryllic base for display but can easily be removed. Ex Horst Wolle Collection.
