Acanthite
This rich specimen of Acanthite, a low-temperature silver sulphide, is from the Himmelsf'rst mine in the historic and world-famous Freiberg Mining District of Saxony, Germany. Masses of well-formed gunmetal-silver, blocky Acanthite crystals to about 1 mm entirely coat the top surface of a granular sucrosic dark-grey Quartz matrix. A great example of this silver sulphide from Saxony.
