Description
A curious miniature of interpenetrant twinned Fluorite crystals attached to a Calcite, or maybe ironstone, stalactite from the Heights mine at Westgate in Weardale, County Durham. Gemmy leaf green Fluorite crystals measuring to 1.2 cm on edge sit around the edges of one edge of the stalactite with the remainder of the stalactite encrusted with tiny pale green Fluorite cubes up to just 2 mm on edge. There is a tiny chip on one of the corners of one of the twinned crystals, but the crystal faces exhibit fantastic growth lines. A small, but extremely unusual Fluorite from the famous Heights mine.
