This great example of a sceptred Quartz crystal comprises of an Amethyst double-terminated Quartz crystal head and colourless to slightly milky-white stem. This specimen is from the occurrence in the Chiredzi mining district in Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe. The head is formed from two intergrown double-terminated Quartz crystals, slightly offset laterally and vertically to form one diagonally shaped crystal, with the most intense Amethyst purple colouration in the two opposite crystal tips.
