A bright metallic brassy coloured specimen of intergrown cubic Pyrite crystals measuring to 1.4 cm on a Quartz-Fluorite matrix from Blackdene mine in Weardale. This specimen was probably mined in about 1970. This is a terrific example from this historic mine, one of the oldest lead mines in County Durham dating to the early 15th century.
