CC16700AZURITE with ZINCOLIVENITE$100.00
Editor's note
This is a rather sophisticated piece for a new collection but the color composition and contrast is so striking you don't need to understand much of the description to appreciate this miniature. You get a similar blue-green combination in Azurite with Malachite pieces - a very common combination. This is something more original and very reasonably priced.

Description
Light peppermint to leaf green Zincolivenite crystals to 1.5 mm are richly scattered over micro-crystals of deep sapphire-azure blue Azurite at the centre of a small miniature sized Azurite nodule. This quite charming specimen is from the mines close to Lavrion on the Attica Peninsula of Greece. The capital, Athens, was built close to this mining area in ancient times as this was where the wealth of the nation originated due to its rich lead-silver mines.
