A single, gemmy, long prismatic crystal of Elbaite tourmaline measuring 9.8 cm tall from the famous Pederneira Claim, Doce Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This significant, prominent crystal, has a greyish-blue to teal bluish-green body colour with a distinctive raspberry/strawberry-red cap where it is terminated by a flat pinacoid face. There is one slight chip on one side of the tip and a tiny natural truncated crystal face on the opposing side. Mostly concentrated towards the base of the crystal is an overgrowth of tiny pink Elbaite prisms, but for most of its length the crystal surfaces are very glassy with classic tourmaline prism striations.
