Tucson, Arizona, USABerg Aukas in Grootfontein District, Namibia is quite simply the world's most important locality for the otherwise rare lead zinc vanadate species Descloizite and on the evidence of this fabulous miniature specimen it is easy to see why. The magnificence of crystal form and sheer size are what makes Berg Aukus stand out but often the narrow bladed crystals are damaged which impacts the overall quality of specimens. This superb miniature specimen is in exceptional condition, presenting extremely well-defined arrow-head, or spear-head shaped translucent cola-brown crystals reaching over 2.5 cm in length. These crystals fan-out in a dramatic way, making for a stunning display of such a rare species. This is an extremely choice Descloizite miniature from older material - the mine closed in 1978.
