Description
This mouth-watering specimen of rich limey-leaf-green Tourmaline with black terminations and enveloping terminated crystals of colourless and transparent Quartz is delightful, showy, and eye-catching. As with many specimens from Brazil, only the state name Minas Gerais is recorded, but no doubt anyone knowledgeable with the Tourmaline mines of this gem-rich area might be able to suggest a possible mine name or more localised locality. The Tourmaline, probably Elbaite, forms excellent prismatic crystals to 6.5 cm long which are lustrous and glassy and display many subtle shades and variations in their specific shades of green. The largest Quartz crystal measures 3.5 x 2.0 x 1.5 cm and is of almost rock-crystal quality, as are most of the other Quartz crystals. A delightful combination of black-cap green Tourmaline crystals with delightful accompanying Quartz.
