Sphalerite and Quartz with Fluorite impressions
Unknown Owner
Specimens of Quartz epimorphs are now considered British classics from the Rampgill mine at Nenthead in Cumbria. This specimen is a fine example of white Quartz displaying excellent impressions of pre-existing cubic Fluorite crystals. Lustrous, complex crystals of dark brown Sphalerite are clustered and dotted over both sides of the epimorphs while tan to rich brown Siderite/Ankerite also covers most of the base. This excellent large cabinet specimen is accompanied with two previous collector’s labels and a Dr F Krantz (Bonn) stock label.\n
