A stunning jewel, this cluster of gemmy goshenite crystals is in the classic form that this mine produced long ago (1960's and before), but we generally only see in books. It is a stunning cluster that features repeated simple hexagons of gem-clear beryl, intergrown like Venn diagrams upon each other. In person, the subtle contrasts of edges is mesmerizing. The piece is the best thumbnail example of this style I know of. It even has a slight iridescence as a bonus! Formerly in the longtime thumbnail collection of Frank and Wendy Melanson (specialists in Brazil among other things), and then Alex Schauss and to Houran by exchange. One of the most important Brazilian thumbnails, I know of, for what it is and for how uniquely beautiful it is among a suite of other gem crystals. A complete Floater, 360 degrees !
