A dramatic, rich salmon-flesh pink colored serandite from the classic finds here in the 1980s. Serandites of this size and color intensity seldom turn up for (re) sale now, and only out of old collections. This piece is a single robust crystal with a sidecar at its base. It has not only the highly saturated color, but the almost metallic surface luster and slight translucency that is the mark of the best pieces. The crystal is in remarkably good shape in that it is not repaired, and is terminated sharply, although it shows some small wear and is contacted on the back of the piece, left side, and slightly on the left side of the termination. For sheer shocking color, and the dramatic crystallization, these are unique mineral specimens and impactful in a case. This is not only the world's only locality for good serandite, but really only a few pockets here ever produced it despite the mining of so much material. It is among the most beautiful of rarities.
