"Herkimer Diamond" quartz occurs in hard dolostone and is hard to extract - crystals this large are seldom extracted on matrix. The crystal measures 5 cm across. It is razor-sharp and has NO damage. Also significant is the fact that instead of sitting on grey rock, it is on a bed of sparkly brown quartz crystals.
