Crystals to 2.5 cm show the typical and beautiful phantoms and color zoning of a classic from the 1970s-1980s finds in Illinois. While big specimens are abundant, nice and finely shaped miniatures are actually not as abundant on the market, and really never were. We have thought about and talked about this with others in the past and some of us believe that, in the local and non-internet market of the day, small minerals were not seen as valuable by the old miners, who concentrated on larger crystals to bring out. Thus, many localities must have had miniatures and thumbnails, but relatively fewer were saved (at least, in good condition). Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 25323
