This is a classic Ludlamite from the Blackbird Mine in Idaho, the premier U.S. locality for the species. This miniature has large, translucent, rich medium green crystals up to 1.2 cm that are handsomely clustered on a matrix of coarsely crystalline Siderite. The Ludlamite crystals have superb euhedral form with wedge-shaped terminations and good luster. This locale is renowned for some of the best geometric, large crystals of the species because of their great characteristics. Most of these came out in the 1960s and the mine has long since closed.
