Superb and classic, this single Fluorite crystal dates back to the mid-1800's. Surely one of the very best Fluorites mined from Wheal Mary Ann, the positive characteristics of this rich, lemon-patterned yellow crystal are numerous: The crystal is actually quite gemmy, and the yellow core is surrounded by numerous light blue and dark blue phantoms. Like what you see at Elmwood, the corner is glassy and gemmy, providing perfect windows into the interior. On top of that, the corner has beautiful, tapered bevels that add so much to the aesthetics of the piece. Brilliant fluorescence, of course. And if all this wasn't enough, the historical provenance has seen this Fluorite go from Richard Talling to the British Museum to Burton Jirgl before landing in Kay's collection. Talling was one of the most notable dealers of his time, and saved many of his best finds for the BMNH! This seems to have his original label, still preserved with it.
