A significant miniature of the species, from any location - but particularly fine and balanced for a Mexican apatite from this famous old locale. This crystal, to nearly 5 cm in height, is perched in matrix of hyalite opal and is without repairs. It is from the noted Mexican collection of Tony Gleckler, a Tucson collector who has specialized in Mexico and had good access. Crystals of this size and quality are known as loose specimens, but matrix pieces - especially good ones with balance - are rare.
