This is a classic 1980s-era specimen of the bright, gemmy, lustrous green fluorite associated with sulfides that came abundantly from the Gibraltar Mine in Naica, at the time. These were abundant at shows throughout the 1980s, and then suddenly stopped, and later fluorite production from Naica really changed dramatically in style! The piece has a fabulous front display with glistening fluorite, accented by sparkles of golden pyrite and metallic galena. The back and sides are contacted, so it does not present as well from other angles. The piece is entirely translucent or transparent to light, so it really glows on a shelf, on display, as the light can shine through the whole thickness of the fluorite.
