Carletonite ONLY occurs in large crystals at the famous and complex Mont Saint-Hilaire, and this is a huge crystal (an inch across) from a major find of the 1980s. The size is good, but also the color is so intense and strong, that it leaps out to the eye. The darker core cube is covered by a second layer of more typical pastel blue color. This is a fine, important miniature and comes from the important rarities suite of a Canadian collector. Crystals of this size and color are almost impossible to obtain on the market.
