A beautiful elongated crystal (5.9 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm) of petalite from the gem pegmatites of Araçuaí, Minas Gerais, Brazil. An important piece given the current interest of lithium minerals and their place in modern day batteries , and the interest in mining these things as ore material. This is an old specimen from Mary Zinn's original rare species suite, sold in 2002 to us; and then to Vasco Trancoso.
