A dramatic, old style of tourmaline from 1990s material that came out from Afghanistan, still notable for the flared crystal shape. Variegated color zones in this lustrous and translucent elbaite crystal range from a faintly yellowish pink at the termination, to a 1 cm band in the center, to a light rose color in the lower half of the crystal. There are also a few sidecar elbaite crystals present. It is complete, with no repairs or restoration at all. A gorgeous specimen, quite different in person from modern material. 77.8 grams.
