This sensational small cabinet Fluorite from the Yaogangxian Mine in China displays both purple and blue colors in an intricate zonal pattern, classic but unique at the same time. It is composed of one large, sharply formed cube and one smaller, and similar, cube off to one side. The larger cube measures 4.0 x 3.6 cm across the top and is transparent in the very center with a pale violet color then surrounded by a diffuse, somewhat cloudy light purple area whose outer zone has an irregular, almost hexagonal-shaped, 2 mm thick dark purple outline. This in turn is surrounded by an exterior transparent portion of pale blue-purple exterior that is very pronounced at the corners. The second crystal has similar attributes. It seems that no two Yaogangxian Fluorites are ever the same! From a small, very distinct pocket with such patterns, found in early 2019.
