Goboboseb Amethysts are common enough, having had a heyday from the early 2000s through perhaps 2015 when literally thousands came out. However, within the flood of quantity, there are some that really stand out even to the jaded eye. This is an old piece, certainly not more recent than 2015, when it went into the Irv Brown miniatures collection. The clarity and depth of color place this cluster at the high end of the range for Namibian amethyst, which therefore ranks it high by any worldwide standard. The well formed crystals reach 4.5 cm in length and are lustrous and very gemmy along with exhibiting a superb purple color. This is an extremely choice, well balanced miniature. Unlike many with sall, thin, mexican-style crystals, this robust and barrel-like crystallization really draws the eye and enhances the color saturation. These thick, meaty crystals just have a "look" to them that the typical more slender examples do not.
