Gorgeous and lustrous, blue-green Cuprian Adamite botryoids are attractively scattered on a contrasting and undulating gossan matrix. This very showy specimen is from a relatively recent, and small, 2006 find at the Brenner Mine at Dalnegorsk. The Brenner mine workings are the upper and oldest workings of the Verchniy Mine at the famous Dalnegorsk base metal deposit. These workings represent the oxidized cap of of this deposit that most collectors aren't even aware of! Lustrous, blue-green, translucent, 2 to 4 mm spherical aggregates of Cuprian Adamite display prominently on the orange-brown gossan matrix in a colorful and artistic patchwork. These Cuprian Adamites from Dalnegorsk are seldom seen on the market. This is a large one - the largest good one I have seen since I started following Russia (I spoke conversational Russian in the 1980s and was buying a lot in the early 1990s when it opened!). I saw many small examples, but cannot recall seeing another so big and rich. It is a fabulous, colorful, rare specimen. Interestingly, we used this specimen for the size and color, in a copper-minerals exhibition in the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History in China for a few years.
