A cluster of lustrous, royal blue Azurite crystals are aesthetically perched on a velvety green Malachite knot in this cute miniature from Milpillas, Mexico. The Azurite crystals display the much sought after electric blue internal reflections from this locality and are also very lustrous with fine striations on some of the crystal faces but not encumbered by the roughness seen on so many inferior Azurites from here. These are like blue jewels on a green carpet - There must be a dozen Azurites that vary in size from 3 mm to 1.4 cm. The elongate and rounded knot of velvety green Malachite provides excellent color and textural contrast for the Azurite cluster. This is a very sharp display piece from Milpillas. It may see some benefit with a trim on both sides down to a miniature, as well!
