This is a MAJOR USA-origin specimen! I have not seen any other pyrite of this magnitude from Arkansas, although it is reported historically and I have seen smaller, damaged pieces. Modified cubes of very lustrous, brassy yellow pyrite crystals, to 3.5 cm across, are emplaced on a bit of dolomite. Peripheral contact/damage is present but does not materially affect the specimen. Bob Trimingham purchased it in 1982 from collector Herman Prins of Grand Rapids, MI.
