Description
The Pederneira Mine is certainly known for its Tourmaline, yet it has produced some beautiful specimens of other species as well, like this stunning Smoky Quartz crystal. It is a robust and gorgeous 6.5 cm long, super glassy, doubly terminated, and very gemmy crystal with near perfect clarity. It has just the right amount of smokiness that isn't overpowering and it has just a sublime brownish hue to it! The faces and edges of the crystal are super sharp with a glassy luster. There are a few veiled fracture inclusions that don't impair the view through the crystals and they actually brighten up the piece. There is also a silvery Muscovite crystal in association that is 3.6 cm in width and is mostly complete. A small amount of white Albite is associated with the Muscovite. The Quartz crystal is in excellent condition with only a few micro-dings on a couple of edges otherwise complete and certainly dazzling!
