This is the only specimen with this association that I have personally seen, and my source informs me that it was the only one she had seen in nearly 40 years of wulfenite collecting with a specialty on the Moroccan material. The piece hosts gemmy, paperthin wulfenite blades to 2 cm nestled protectively in a pocket of glistening blue azurite. The contrast is as beautiful as it is surprising. I had never even heard of this association from Morocco, before seeing the specimen. In fact, I am trying to think if I have seen a wulfenite on good azurite from anywhere else?! It is from the longtime wulfenite collection of Caroline Martaud, of France, who purchased in in 1980 from fellow French collector of Moroccan lead minerals, Eric Asselborn. Joe Budd photos.
