A large rosette of gorgeous, intense green crystals from this old locality, it has a shimmering and velvety sheen to it. This "primary" malachite specimen is a solid mass of fibrous crystals, to 1.5 cm in length. We call it primary because most crystallized malachite specimens are more commonly formed as replacements after azurite, than as original large crystals, from many locations. It is lustrous and slightly translucent at the edges with a beautiful emerald green color, and quite good for a European malachite of any kind. Ex Christian Rewitzer collection.
