Fine, large, heliodor crystals, such as this one, are rarely seen these days from anywhere except the typical style from Ukraine. This intensely yellow gem crystal is, however, from India. The light colored inclusions are clay and add to the beauty of the specimen as well as making it distinct in appearance from Ukrainian material. The color is also a more pure yellow. Luster is insane! The mass is 233 grams. I have been QUIETLY buying these up through a gem dealer in Jaipur. they did not hit the mineral market, per se. Sadly, the first lot was all cut. There have been 3 small pockets this year in a small pegmatite in Orissa (I have the location and will disclose it to owner). However, the pockets seem small and it is mostly being cut for gem rough.
