Brilliant orange-red crystals of the rare sodium halide villiaumite were found in the late 2000s. Specimens with crystals over 1 cm are stunningly rare, and also stunningly beautiful. This specimen is an outstanding example with a 2.2 cm crystal glowing beautifully in the grey phonolite matrix, and is one of the best of the find. The villiaumite also exhibits growth features on one of the faces making it unique.
