Azurite from Mexico was, once upon a time before Milpillas produced, fairly rare. Some of the most famous and unique azurite specimens not only in Mexico but worldwide, came out in the 1970s and 1960s even, from this small mine area in Chihuahua. These were prized by collectors of worldwide azurite and remain, today, still very rare. This is an excellent example of that historic style, and particularly aesthetic in arrangement for obvious reason; and could be considered a very rich example of the location.
