Epidote is one of the best known of all the Alpine cleft species in the world, and some great Epidote specimens have come out of Pakistan in recent years. They are seemingly identical to the classic Alpine specimens from Europe and this is a good example. This miniature is a sharp, lustrous, transparent to translucent, subparallel grouping, featuring two prominent and several smaller prismatic Epidote crystals. The Epidotes are a deep and saturated dark green with well defined crystals and the two larger ones measure 4.5 and 3.2cm in length. There are several small Epidote crystals in parallel to subparallel growth with these two and some small variably complete crystals growing horizontally across the base. The crystals are in excellent condition and look great from the front, with only minor contacting in the back. Ex. Steve and Clara Smale collection with label.
