A rich purple cluster of Fluorite is perched on a nest of Muscovite along with a few stubby Quartz crystals, making for a rare combination specimen from this famous old mine. Six or seven translucent, dark purple Fluorite crystals comprise the main cluster and there is a pair of smaller Fluorites that are offset from the main group. All of the Fluorite crystals are dominated by the cube and have dodecahedral modifications. Three stubby, yet water clear Quartz crystals to 1.5 cm enhance the Fluorites. The Fluorites are emplaced on a very fine-grained brownish yellow Muscovite which in turn completely cover several rhombs of Siderite that form the contacted base of the piece. This is a well composed and balanced miniature from Panasqueira. It is a location which produces so many other species in abundance, but little fluorite. This is from the large European suite of the Dr. Wouter Van Tichelen collection.
