Zircon is one of those species that is so legendary in gems and yet in mineral specimens often leaves us cold because most specimens lack color or luster. This is a typical Pakistani zircon but with stronger than usual red color, strong waxy luster, and a beautiful display as a large crystal perched on just the right amount of matrix. The crystal is complexly terminated and really dominant for the size of the matrix, so it would fit nicely in any collection of gem species, even. Complete all around except for a few small contacts, from a 2022 pocket.
