This is a very rich, three-dimensional specimen, unusually biologic in first look and with thick, translucent, stacked botryoids of Plumbogummite of high quality, completely coating a rocky matrix containing a tad bit of Pyromorphite for contrast. Dark, medium blue-green, rounded aggregates of Plumbogummite are multiply stacked on top of each other both vertically and laterally on this piece making for a convolute stalagtite or stalactite. It is in excellent condition save one imperfection at the top (rear-facing), a natural contract or growth disruption that actually is interesting in and of itself, as it does reveal the concentric banding and radial internal structure of the Plumbogummite. It is a great small cabinet piece with unusually even coverage and excellent, almost translucent bubbles of this uncommon lead-aluminum phosphate. Specimens of this quality with three-dimensional aesthetics are few and far between for this 2014-2015 find in China, and they have not been available since. ex Steve Smale collection.
