Fluorite on Fluorite$1,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This is an amazingly shaped purple, botryoidal (rounded) Fluorite from Burma. This miniature is composed entirely of Fluorite consisting of a foundation of very pale purple Fluorite that transitions to a rich purple for the top third of the piece with a tan colored demarcation line around the "waist" probably composed of a thin coating of Calcite. The uppermost portion is botryoidal, but each "botryoid" seems more like dozens of numerous, rolling, subparallel cube faces, each displaying a satin sheen. This is very unusual and very uncommon material from Burma; it is very dramatic in appearance and quite unlike any other purple Fluorite you might have seen. Like many items in this collection, it only is saved because Bill was on the ground at the time they came out, and people saved him the weird and unusual things, even if not gem species. Otherwise, these probably would not have been saved and exported in the 1990-2008 heyday when this collection was mostly built. Mark Mauthner photo.
