This is one of the most impressive, aesthetic specimens of the lemon yellow saturation from the new find of world class brucites, that to me simply redefine the species. It occurs at other locales as gray to pale greenish or straw yellow aggregates, usually not very aesthetic. Enough said, on that comparison, given the photos here! This piece stands vertically on calcite matrix, and is one of the VERY few recovered with any matrix at all from these tight seems. It is complete on the front and sides, and gorgeously translucent throughout. The back is a flat contact face, not damage, where it grew against the vein wall and came away cleanly. The top is crystallized, and complete, with an elegant little crystal spiral atop the cluster's tip. Overall, its just an impressive and beautiful thing for ANY mineral specimen - but unprecedented in showmanship for a brucite. This is a competitive level specimen worthy of sitting with any fancy gem minerals or more expensive common species, in a collection, and yet holding its own. The color is simply mesmerizing - you cannot look away. These photos show only moderate backlighting. In more light, from behind, this glows. Quite frankly, it is one of my favorite rare species I have ever handled, and it has such color that it crosses all mineral collector boundaries and becomes a "trophy piece" despite its weird rarity as a species.
