A highly interesting "intergrowth" combination where the quartz either grew through the calcite, or the calcite grew around the quartz - I cannot say which. The contrast of crystal habit is interesting, and it stands nicely on a base. The slightly pink, manganoan-rich calcite is fluorescent orange-red under UV light.
