An exceptionally rich, solid vein of lustrous, acicular, deep green Antlerite crystals from the world's largest open pit copper mine, Chuquicamata, in Chile. The open pit portion of the mine where Antlerite was mined is now gone and the mine is now going underground. This rich, electric-green piece consists of a thick seam of vertically oriented, acicular Antlerite crystals that grew between two layers of matrix which it was separated from and is now solid, vivid green Antlerite! Good, rich, colorful pieces like this are almost impossible to come by of the rare copper sulfate species once found at the mine. It is large, rich, and interesting. Chuqui is still, today, one of the world's most important industrial mines, and few specimens are saved. This likely dates back 50-100 years.
