Tremolite
This doubly terminated gem crystal of Tremolite is from Badakhshan, Afghanistan and is out of the Kay Robertson collection, from acquisition sometime in the early 2000s at latest. It is a nicely formed, prismatic, essentially colorless and very gemmy. The prism faces are well developed and display a satin luster with distinct terminations at each end that are a little rough, but very good considering this was probably frozen in a contact metamorphic rock matrix at one time. These Tremolites are rarely available on the market and it is an unusual specimen from the region. Featured in the book Collecting Classics: The Legacy of Kay Robertson (Mineralogical Record, May 2025) on page 57.
