Here is a choice and INTENSELY-colorful and gemmy to translucent color zoned, mostly cranberry pink Elbaite Tourmaline crystal from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. It is the classic color known since the 1970s, and we presume it came out around that time, but it could have been more recent. It is cranberry pink through the large inner zone and at the very top 1.5 mm of the termination with the rim and a 4 mm zone near the top an icy light blue! It measures just under two inches in length, has fabulous luster and displays the typical striations parallel to its length as most Tourmalines do. It is in excellent condition with only a couple of tiny nicks at the termination, a larger one on one edge and then the base shows impressions of other Tourmaline crystals that it grew with in the pocket. One small, 1.5 cm sidecar crystal is still present. This little beauty has a mass of 47 grams. Probably from 1970s-1980s finds. This color is exceptional, unlike anything modern and much more vibrant in the hand than the photo can convey.
