Interesting new fluorite finds from China continued to surprise us in 2018! This is a special pocket that had interesting contrast, I felt. I have seen very few good ones with separation, as most were jumbled messes. Emplaced nicely on a massive, white quartz matrix are several smaller octahedral fluorite crystals coated with a thin layer of quartz. The highlight of the specimen is an uncoated, glassy and gemmy, octahedral, emerald-green fluorite crystal measuring 4.5 cm in length, poking up as if it is rising from a field of snow that still coats the others. The large crystal fluoresces a rich purple color.
