Outstanding, compound Wolframite composed of bladed crystals in parallel growth. The well-terminated Wolframites are jet black and highly lustrous, and they are associated with gemmy, clear to purple Fluorites that range up to 1.2 cm. There is even some drusy Pyrite to add some glitter to this fine combination. Of course, there is contacting along the bottom of this small cab where it was attached. One of the most interesting aspects of this piece is that the center of the Wolframite is hollow. This rectangular space looks very much like the hangar deck on an aircraft carrier, but there is no real way to know the origin of this space. Most intriguing, though, to say the least. From the famous Yaogangxian Mine, the aesthetic and most unusual habit of the Wolframite is reminiscent of some of the great Vivianites from Bolivia. EXCEPTIONAL unique specimen purchased by Roberts in China long ago.
