This unusual quartz specimen is from the private collection of mine owner Ron Coleman, sold to us perhaps around 2010. It is notable in that it features very unusual terminations, that are tabular and have features we can refer to as pseudocubic - unusual faces on a quartz crystal. It is, also, just a gorgeous floater gem crystal on its own merits! Coleman Mine, originally called Dierks No.4 Mine or the Blocker Lead minel after local crystal dealer, John Blocker, is located 4½ miles NW of Jessieville in the Ouachita Mountains, an area of Arkansas famous for clear quartz production. Coleman Mine has been producing large quantities of quartz crystals since 1943 and is still consider the most productive quartz mine in Arkansas.
