Manganese-rich Vesuvianite$4,000.00

This fantastic color combo for Vesuvianite is only seen from the Jeffrey Mine and these are truly some of the most distinctive crystals in the world because virtually no other species has this color or color variation, and the classic vesuvianites from this quarry are among the most famous minerals of Canada. These Manganoan Vesuvianite crystals are more rare than the typical green color from here (itself fairly uncommon!) and well known for their violet and lavender colors which can clearly be seen on this specimen. Most of the crystals on this piece are actually two-toned having violet, translucent to transparent, manganese-bearing cores and an outer, totally gem, light green (manganese poor and iron-rich) rim for a wonderful complementary color combination. Crystals range in size from 0.5 to 1.3 cm in length and all of them have superb luster with excellent terminations and beautiful color. The Jeffrey Quarry is now completely defunct and these amazing Vesuvianite specimens are no longer being found, and were only from a few small pockets in the 1980s, so this is a rare miniature of display quality, and certainly no more will be found..
