This so-called "fluorite corner' growth is such a unique kind of style from Elmwood's historic finds, and it is unusually large and complete all around - easily robust enough to stand, mounted vertically in a base. This seems nearly complete and pristine all around and has an elegant extended growth to one side that is somewhat unusual, and complete. Essentially it is a floater, because of how these form from dissolution of an original large cube that creates the stalk but leaves the corners intact (they are more resistant to the dissolution in solution, it seems). These are so rare in this size and quality! Petroleum inclusions within are highly fluorescent. Formerly in the F John Barlow #3343 (Wisconsin) and Scott Kleine collections. Scott accumulated a carefully selected suite of these fantastic fluorite growths from previous generations as those 3 collections came up for sale in the 1990s-2000s.
