A glassy and gemmy bicolored crystal that is peach-colored at the base and has a 3-mm thick emerald-green band in the center, along with a nearly colorless termination known as achroite - actually quite rare in tourmaline. The crystal weighs 60 carats and is fully terminated, spectacularly lustrous, and just plain gorgeous. This cut and rough set gem here is of matched quality, from the same pocket, consists of a cushion cut, bicolored gemstone weighing 9.1 carats (1.3 x 1.0 x 0.8 cm), with gradated peach to light blue coloration. From the famous tourmaline collection exhibit case (Bill Larson collection) that long ago graced the front retail gallery of the Pala Intl jewelry and mineral store in Fallbrook, CA.
