Classic old French material, these lustrous, sharp siderites have been known from this famous old mine since the dawn of the modern age of mineralogy; and we have even seen such specimens with labels from the 1700s! This piece has particularly strong color, no damage, strong luster, and a highly unusual association with sharp pyrite crystals. We have seen many turn up in old collections over the years, but they usually have wear or a dullness to them, with none other quite as fine in quality and form and sharpness overall; and the pyrite association is an extra bonus.
